African Opal
Renewal · Clarity · New Beginnings
African Opal carries soft, earthy tones that shift between cream, blue, and warm brown. No two beads are alike.
People reach for it during seasons of change, when something has ended and something new hasn't quite begun. Across cultures it has been worn as a stone of renewal and clear sight, valued for the calm and perspective it brings in times of transition.
Available in 6mm, 8mm, and 10mm round beads. This listing is for a single bracelet.
The Stone's Story
The Romans considered opal among the most precious of all gems, second only to emerald, and believed it could see beyond the surface of things. In the Middle Ages it was called the Eye Stone. Ethiopian Welo Opal, found in the highlands of East Africa, has been used there for generations as a stone of vision and awakening.
Formed Over Millions of Years
African Opal forms over tens of millions of years, as silica-rich water seeps into rock cavities and slowly hardens. The finest comes from the Welo Province of Ethiopia, with deposits across Madagascar and East Africa.
How to Wear & Care
Wear it daily or stack it with other stones. To cleanse, hold it under cool running water or rest it on a windowsill overnight. Avoid harsh chemicals and prolonged direct sun.
