Amethyst
Calm · Clarity · Spirit
Amethyst runs the full range of purple, from pale lilac that turns almost translucent in the light to a deep, saturated violet that holds its color in shadow. No two beads are quite the same.
People reach for it when the mind won't quiet. The nights sleep won't come, the stretches when thought loops on itself, the days that need somewhere for the noise to go. Across the ancient world it was the stone carried for exactly this, to steady an overactive mind and make room for something higher.
Available in 6mm, 8mm, and 10mm round beads. This listing is for a single bracelet.
The Stone's Story
The Greek name amethystos means "not intoxicated," and the stone was carried as a charm for a clear, sober mind. Egyptian pharaohs wore it in amulets, Greek soldiers took it into battle, and medieval bishops wore amethyst rings as a symbol of spiritual clarity. From Hindu tradition to Tibetan Buddhism, cultures that never met each other reached the same conclusion about this stone.
Formed Over Millions of Years
Amethyst forms over millions of years inside volcanic geodes, as silica-rich water slowly crystallizes in pockets of cooling rock. Its purple comes from traces of iron awakened by the earth's natural radiation. The finest comes from Brazil and Uruguay.
How to Wear & Care
Wear it daily or stack it with other stones. To cleanse, hold it under cool running water or rest it on a windowsill overnight. Keep it out of prolonged direct sun, which can fade the purple over time.
