Black Tourmaline
Protection · Grounding · Safety
Black Tourmaline is a deep, true black with a faint vertical striation running through each bead, the natural ridging the crystal forms as it grows. It has a grounded, substantial weight on the wrist.
People reach for it when the world feels like too much. The overstimulating days, the draining rooms, the times you need a clear line between yourself and everything pressing in. It is the stone carried for exactly this across more cultures than almost any other.
Available in 6mm, 8mm, and 10mm round beads. This listing is for a single bracelet.
The Stone's Story
What makes Black Tourmaline remarkable is the agreement of cultures that never met. In African Hoodoo traditions, in the Sanskrit chakra texts, in Chinese and Yoruba practice, all of them independently reached the same conclusion: this is the stone you carry when you need to feel shielded. Modern practitioners still regard it as the most protective stone there is.
Formed Over Millions of Years
Black Tourmaline forms over millions of years in pegmatite rock through hydrothermal activity, in formations commonly 300 to 600 million years old. It is found in Brazil, Madagascar, Pakistan, and the mountains of Maine and California.
How to Wear & Care
Wear it daily, keep it near your workspace, or hold it when you need to feel steady. To cleanse, hold it briefly under cool running water or rest it on a windowsill overnight. Avoid harsh chemicals.
