The Stone's Story

Long called the Genius Stone, fluorite has been used by scholars and priests for mental clarity across cultures. The Egyptians carved it into statues of their gods, and the Romans prized fluorite vessels so highly that Emperor Nero reportedly paid a fortune for a single cup. In Chinese tradition it was the stone of seeing what others miss.

Formed Over Millions of Years

Fluorite forms over millions of years in hydrothermal veins where mineral-rich solutions meet limestone, in deposits commonly 50 to 300 million years old. It is found in China, Mexico, and the hills of England, where the banded Blue John variety is famous.

How to Wear & Care

Fluorite is a softer stone, so handle it gently and avoid knocks against hard surfaces. To cleanse, wipe it with a soft damp cloth or rest it on a windowsill overnight. Keep it out of prolonged direct sun, which can fade the colors, and avoid harsh chemicals.

XS fits wrists under 5 inches. S fits 5 to 6 inches. M fits 6 to 7 inches. L fits 7 to 8 inches. XL fits 8 to 9 inches.
