Hematite
Strength · Stability · Endurance
Hematite is the stone of return. When your thoughts scatter and the day feels untethered, it pulls you back down to earth and into your own body. Few stones feel so immediately steadying.
You feel it before you understand it. Hematite has a real, mineral heaviness, a bright metallic sheen and a density on the wrist that no other stone shares. That weight is the whole point.
Available in 6mm, 8mm, and 10mm round beads. This listing is for a single bracelet.
The Stone's Story
Hematite is one of the oldest stones in human hands, ground into red pigment for cave paintings as far back as 164,000 years ago. Greek soldiers rubbed it over their bodies before battle, believing it made them invulnerable, and called it the blood stone because it runs red when ground. Across the ancient world it was buried with the dead and carried by the living as a stone of strength.
Formed Over Millions of Years
An iron oxide, hematite is ancient beyond easy comprehension, with some deposits more than two billion years old. It forms across the world, with notable sources in Brazil, England, and Morocco.
How to Wear & Care
Keep hematite dry, as its iron content means it can rust if it stays wet. Wipe it with a soft dry cloth and cleanse it in moonlight or with incense smoke rather than water. Store it somewhere dry and avoid harsh chemicals.
