Labradorite
Magic · Transformation · Intuition
Labradorite is the stone of the threshold, worn when life is shifting and you are becoming someone new. It is for trusting what you sense before you can fully explain it, and for finding courage in the in-between.
At first glance it reads as plain gray. Then it catches the light and flashes electric blue, green, and gold from somewhere deep inside. That hidden fire is exactly why it has always been called a stone of magic.
Available in 6mm, 8mm, and 10mm round beads. This listing is for a single bracelet.
The Stone's Story
The Inuit of the far north told of labradorite that the Northern Lights were once trapped inside it, freed when a warrior struck the stone with his spear, leaving some of that light behind forever. Vikings used it as a navigational talisman on sea voyages, and in shamanic traditions it has always been the stone of healers and seers, those who work between the seen and the unseen.
Formed Over Millions of Years
Labradorite forms as molten rock cools slowly deep within the earth, the unhurried cooling that gives the stone its famous play of color. Some deposits are roughly 1.1 billion years old. It is found in Canada, Finland, Madagascar, Norway, and Russia.
How to Wear & Care
Wear it daily or stack it with other stones. To cleanse, hold it briefly under cool running water or rest it on a windowsill overnight. Avoid harsh chemicals and prolonged direct sun.
